Graham is ENVECSO’s founder, CEO and lead consultant. He is an inspirational and entrepreneurial leader with 18 years of experience in sustainability consultancy, including 11 years as a managing director.

Graham is one of the UK’s leading specialists in social value and well-being economics. His consultancy work spans impact measurement and reporting, well-being and circular economies, climate education and sustainable procurement.

His extensive experience provides a unique perspective on the complex interrelationships between environmental, economic and social issues and the need for systemic approaches to create change. 

Graham has led and managed businesses in the UK and internationally and his aim is to support purpose-led organisations to develop and flourish, by developing strategies to understand, demonstrate and communicate their impact.

  • Founder and Director of ENVECSO Ltd. (2023 – )
  • 11 years as Managing Director of two purpose-led small businesses: Triangle Consulting Social Enterprise Ltd. (2019-23) and NEF Consulting Ltd. (2012-19)
  • 7 years as Environmental Consultant and Programme Manager, leading national and regional programmes for green and sustainable procurement and the circular economy (2005-12)
  • Co-founder of ethical online retail company, By Nature Ltd. (2005 – )
  • Started UK and US subsidiaries of Belgian electronic publishing company and grew to first millions of turnover: Bureau van Dijk 
  • 8 years as Trustee of local charity supporting the visually impaired (VI) community: Sutton Vision (since 2016)
  • Msc in Responsibility and Business Practice and BSc in Business Administration from University of Bath

Graham worked with Public Health Wales to develop an open access Social Value Database and Simulator (SVDS) for Public Health. The SVDS for Public Health is a useful interactive tool for users to find social value evidence relevant to various public health fields and to support sustainable and fairer decision-making processes….

Healthy Returns From Sustainability Actions

Graham led this NEF Consulting project to develop the first ‘Total Contribution’ report for the Crown Estate. It evaluated the net environmental, economic and social impacts across the estate, including urban, retail, rural and renewable energy activities. It helped the Crown Estate to develop its approach to integrated reporting as well as strategies to improve its total contribution by identifying potential drivers, barriers and trade-offs….

Regent’s Place occupies a 13 acre site in the London Borough of Camden, just north of the Euston Road, to the east of Regent’s Park and west of Euston station. British Land redeveloped and managed the site over a 30 your period, working closely with the local community to create positive outcomes and social value as illustrated in this NEF Consulting report ….

Based on research led by Graham at NEF Consulting, The Prince’s Trust published its “Our 40 Life-Changing Years” report. Supported by HSBC, the report reveals the substantial impact created by The Trust: £1.4 billion in value to society over the last ten years alone.”

FareShare is the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste, redistributing good quality surplus food from the food industry to nearly 10,000 charities and community groups. While at NEF Consulting, Graham led a project to estimate the economic and social value of redistributed surplus food; the current and potential cost avoided by the UK public sector resulting from FareShare’s work.
